Amazon Author

As sole designer at the time, I led the redesign and rebrand efforts of Amazon Author Central.

Problem

Many author's weren't leveraging Amazon's author profile features, which tended to increase sales of books.

The existing solution to do so was a desktop-only legacy website, that didn't provide customers with necessary context to effectively manage their Amazon website presence.

Design Opportunity

An interesting data insight showed that almost half of the website traffic was mobile. Per that insight, we were determined to make this a mobile-first redesign.

Output

I redesigned the experience to feel like a guided workflow, as opposed to a scattered set of features. 

The fully responsive experience launched with 4 breakpoints- mobile, tablet, desktop and XL.

Result

The finished product features a fresh new look, in accordance to new Amazon Author brand guidelines. The entire experience was inspired by Kindle's new use of serif typefaces in it's own mobile app.
